UCSB Reunion, Part 2

Visiting Santa Barbara was really the perfect vacation. It was a mix of fun trips in the morning and then relaxing at the house in the afternoon as the kiddos napped.

On Saturday morning we went to the Santa Barbara Zoo. This is a nice little zoo, and man do these animals have the life. Where else do the giraffes have an ocean view? Pictured: Michael, Mike, Dahlia, & Alex (in the background), Diane, Davin, Dan A., Bridget, Brendan, & Erin.

Wyatt was hesitant at first, but once Brian showed him there was nothing to be afraid of, Wyatt loved feeding the animals.

After the kids woke up from their naps (and I woke up from mine!) we went outside to play. Wyatt got to go swimming, which I didn't get any pictures of, and then we went to do crafts and play on the trampoline.

On Saturday night we BBQ'd (or rather the husbands BBQ'd). They made yummy tri-tip and hot dogs plus BBQ'd veggies. Mmm!

It was so much fun to watch all the kids eat and play together. They got along so well!

After dark, the dads took over the table. Dahlia and Alex made sure the dad ate all their dinner. Pictured: Brian, Mohamed, Dan, and Brendan

The master bedroom had a giant jacuzzi tub that we threw the kids in at bath time. At one point 5 of the 7 kids were in the tub together!

My favorite part of the weekend was Girl's Night Out. We went out for dessert and drinks and got all caught up. I never imagined 14 years ago when I moved into Anacapa Residence Hall at UCSB that I would be meeting the women who would be my dearest friends for life. Though as Diane put it, "You know you are old when you roll out on a Saturday night with no make up on, hop in a minivan with 2 preggers and have a great time!"
