No Baby Yet!
We just got back from our doctor's appointment and I'm happy to report that Wyatt is doing well. His heart beat was nice and strong on the fetal heart monitor. We discovered that whenever Brian spoke Wyatt's heart rate spiked a bit as he reacted to the sound of his daddy's voice. No signs of stress so he gets to stay in for at least another week. We go in next Thursday for another non-stress test and ultrasound. If the placenta shows continued calcification, then at that point we would be having a baby! So it sounds like Wyatt could be here as early as next Friday! We'll keep you posted!!

Family Baby Shower, Part 3
Brian totally surprised me with gifts at the shower. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of the abundance of Boston Red Sox apparel that he got me, but sufficed to say Wyatt will have Red Sox gear to wear for at least a year. This is a picture of the beautiful necklace that Brian gave me. It is an aquamarine surrounded by diamonds - aquamarine is the March birthstone and diamonds are for April - so it is either my birthstone surrounded by Wyatt's if he's born in April, or it's Wyatt's birthstone surrounded by diamonds if he's born in March. He also wrote me a beautiful letter to go with the gifts, and, because he knows me so well, he even included kleenex to wipe my tears as I read it!
This is the beautiful blanket that Brian's mom, Vickie, made for Wyatt. It is a beautiful yellow color that reminds me of the blanket that I carried around as a child. I can't wait to snuggle Wyatt up in it!
Baby fireman's boots, picked out by my nephew Jack.
Two sleepers from Grandma Jeanine along with a number of absolutely beautiful handmade bibs. Wyatt is so lucky to have such crafty grandmothers and great grandmothers! Thank you to everyone who came and for all of the wonderful gifts that Wyatt received.
Family Baby Shower, Part 2
Lori, my mom, and Dar chatting at the shower.
My mom is over the moon to have two new grandsons coming this spring. My sister, Lori, is due about three weeks after I am.
Jenn, Aunt Pam, and me visiting and eating (okay, I'm the only one eating in this picture, but hey, I'm pregnant!)
Me and Aunt Vicky.
Me, Jenn, Meghan, and Hannah.
Family Baby Shower
Here are a few of the pictures from my baby shower. It was hosted by my wonderful sister-in-law Shannon and my two best friends, Aditi & Jean. They did an absolutely amazing job. The food, decorations, and games were perfect. Above is my bump at 33 weeks.... Brian keeps telling me I need to cut out the carbs!
Meghan, Shannon, Hannah, and me. Notice that Shannon is holding both Hannah & Meghan - this is what motherhood prepares you for!
Jean & Aditi flew in from the Bay Area the morning of the shower with suitcases full of shower preparations and them flew back home that night. It was so great to see both of them.
Isn't the cake adorable? It perfectly matches the theme of Wyatt's nursery. I am in love with the lion's mane!

Getting Organized
Well, we've finally set up the nursery (such as it is). I'm still sad that we're in the apartment for Wyatt's arrival - I was really hoping to be in a house with more space by now - but we're making due. The two dressers we found were delivered yesterday and have been cleaned out and lined with shelf paper. With only a minimal amount of furniture rearranging and tears (mine, not Brian's) we got everything set up. My computer has been relocated to our dining room and the second dresser for the nursery is in the living room. Brian tells me that the nursery/office (where his computer is) belongs to him and Wyatt and that there are no girls allowed! I suspect that will change once Wyatt gets here, because if I'm not allowed in there then he'll be exclusively in charge of changing dirty diapers!
I've also been busily reading every book I can get my hands on to tell me what to expect once Wyatt comes home, from What to Expect the First Year to an excellent book about breast feeding that was recommended to me by a friend. I feel kind of like I'm cramming for a final exam at this point, but would rather read all this stuff now to have at least a vague idea of what we can expect when Wyatt is born. To all my mommy friends, if you have any other books or resources that you've found helpful, feel free to pass them my way!
