Check Up & Bath Time

Wyatt went for another check up this afternoon to make sure that he was gaining weight.  At his check up on Monday he weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces (it turns out babies lose weight after they are born, before they start gaining weight as they grow).  Today he weighed 7 pounds, 1/2 ounce - a gain of more than 7 ounces in four days! According to his pediatrician this makes Wyatt a weight-gaining champion!  Usually babies gain 1 ounce per day, but Wyatt almost doubled that! We are glad that he is gaining weight as it means he is eating well, which is hard to gauge when nursing.

We are really enjoying our time with Wyatt so far.  I could spend all day watching him sleep and watching all the funny expressions on his little face.  My favorite so far is when he furrows his brow making him look even more like a little old man.  We seem to be lucky, he is very mellow.  He is the rare baby that doesn't mind being naked and doesn't really even care to be swaddled.  We gave him a bath tonight, which he seems to like more and more every day.  Tonight he spent his bath looking around taking everything in.  Here is a picture of him all wrapped up in his lion towel after his bath.

We are also VERY thankful that Grandma Margy has come to visit.  She has been a big help to us - doing laundry, making dinner and changing LOTS of poopy diapers!  As an added bonus, Grandma's legendarily cold hands come in handy when we need to wake Wyatt up to eat!
