This week we adopted a cat. His name is Sherbalicious, or Sherby for short. (Secretly, I think of him as Sherby the Love Bug.) We got him from my boss, who took him in as a stray. He is about 3 years old and is truly the anti-cat. He loves people and so is always with us. As I type he is laying on the desk next to me purring.

Wyatt loves him and Sherby seems to love Wyatt right back. When Wyatt pulls on his tail or grabs his fur or paws, Sherby's response is to flop on his side and purr, as if to say "Here let me make it easy for you to love me." Tonight as Wyatt was sitting on my lap snuggling before bedtime, Sherby hopped up on the couch and laid right next to us and nuzzle Wyatt's hand and legs so Wyatt could give him a goodnight pat. We are still working on teaching Wyatt "gentle" but on the whole, he is doing very well being kind to Sherby.

Brian wasn't keen on the idea of a cat. He has emphasized that Sherby is my cat and my responsibility. Of course, this means that Sherby loves him best! But the truth is, I'm pretty sure Brian likes him too! After all, Sherby is pretty darn cute!
Great Cat!
