I've also been busily reading every book I can get my hands on to tell me what to expect once Wyatt comes home, from What to Expect the First Year to an excellent book about breast feeding that was recommended to me by a friend. I feel kind of like I'm cramming for a final exam at this point, but would rather read all this stuff now to have at least a vague idea of what we can expect when Wyatt is born. To all my mommy friends, if you have any other books or resources that you've found helpful, feel free to pass them my way!
A way for friends and family across the country to watch Wyatt & Harper grow up.

Getting Organized
Well, we've finally set up the nursery (such as it is). I'm still sad that we're in the apartment for Wyatt's arrival - I was really hoping to be in a house with more space by now - but we're making due. The two dressers we found were delivered yesterday and have been cleaned out and lined with shelf paper. With only a minimal amount of furniture rearranging and tears (mine, not Brian's) we got everything set up. My computer has been relocated to our dining room and the second dresser for the nursery is in the living room. Brian tells me that the nursery/office (where his computer is) belongs to him and Wyatt and that there are no girls allowed! I suspect that will change once Wyatt gets here, because if I'm not allowed in there then he'll be exclusively in charge of changing dirty diapers!

Hey, Rebecca! Here are the books I recommend: Birthing from Within, The Whole Pregnancy Handbook, The Nursing Mother's Companion, and The Baby Book by Sears and Sears. Happy reading and waiting ... :) Hugs, Sarah
ReplyDeleteAlas, I am not a book person really. I tried to read some books... but then I just felt guilty that I wasn't reading scientific articles. If you want, we can chat about the things that I thought were most important, especially in the first few weeks. Gimme a call anytime. XOXOs di
